If anyone is reading this and is looking for a good program, definitely check this one out! You can check out my post history if you want to see some examples of stuff that I've done with it. I don't care for enough of my doodles to save them each off like that, but with Sketchable they just go straight into your sketchbook and you can browse through your drawings, and add/delete pages without skipping a beat. I don't like how with other programs, you need to save every single piece as its own file into your regular file explorer. As an artist, I quite often just want to doodle and scribble. My other favorite thing, which is one thing that won me over, is how the program saves your work in "sketchbooks" which can quickly be accessed.
I just got the newest update, and they made some awesome UI changes that makes the experience even better, and the ability to add your own brushes, which is something I expect I'll be using a lot. Yeah, the powerful desktop art programs are more powerful and more capable, but they feel like heavy resource hogs and Photoshop is a pain in the ass to use without keyboard shortcuts. Most things I'd use keyboard shortcuts for are very easily and quickly accessed through the UI. Sketchable makes it easy to just whip it out and get to work, and without having to use the Type Cover. Using a Surface, I want to be able to pull my device out on a whim and get to drawing/painting quickly and easily.
What does it for me is the really well-implemented touch friendly UI. Sketchable doesn't have every feature under the sun, and it's not perfect, but overall, when it comes to the sum of all its parts, it's just the most satisfying program to use. I've been doing a lot of art lately, and I haven't found an art app yet that I like more than Sketchable, and this is coming from someone who has Photoshop CS3.
